Whole-House Carpet Cleaning Packages: When a Flat Price Beats Counting Rooms
Some customers do not want to count rooms. They want to hear one number for “all the carpet in the house” and decide yes or no. A whole-house package gives them that, and done right it gives you a bigger ticket, a faster quote and fewer arguments about what counts as a room.
Packages Sit Next to Room Pricing
Room pricing and its edges, including the stairs and hallways covered in Pricing Stairs and Hallways on a Carpet Cleaning Estimate, are the foundation for most residential quotes. A package does not replace them. It sits beside them as another service on your list, for the customers who would rather have one price.
The key is that the package price should make sense against your room prices. If four rooms, a hall and stairs would add up to a certain amount, the package for a typical home that size should land near it, sometimes a little lower to reward the customer for booking everything.
When a Package Works Best
- Typical homes in your area. If most of your customers live in three- and four-bedroom homes with similar layouts, one package price covers a lot of calls.
- Customers moving in or selling. They want everything done and do not care about the breakdown.
- Yearly cleaning plans. A whole-house cleaning once a year or every six months is easy to sell as a plan.
- Quick phone quotes. “Whole house, up to so many rooms, $349” is fast to say.
Packages work less well for very large or unusual homes, which is why every package needs a clear limit.
Define Exactly What the Package Includes
A whole-house package is only flat if its edges are clear. Write the package description to answer:
- How many rooms are included, using your room policy.
- Whether hallways and stairs are included, and how many flights.
- What happens above the limit, usually extra rooms at your per-room price.
- What is not included: upholstery, rugs, tile & grout and add-ons like pet odor treatment or protector.
- Basements and bonus rooms, which are the most common source of surprise.
Put that into the package's description on your service list so it appears on every estimate. The customer reads it before they approve online.
Tiered Packages
Some owners offer two or three package sizes based on room count: a smaller home package, a standard package and a large home package. That keeps the flat-price feel while protecting you on bigger houses. Each tier is its own service on the list with its own price and description.
Another option is a package priced off the property's measurements. CarpetBossPro lets services be priced off square feet or number of rooms, so a whole-house service can scale with the home while still showing as one line on the estimate.
Packages Plus Add-Ons
A package is a great base for add-ons. Once the customer has said yes to the whole house, offering stain protector on the main living areas, pet odor treatment in a bedroom or a sofa cleaning is a natural next step. Keep each add-on as its own line so the customer can choose. More in Pet Odor, Protector and Deodorizer: Putting Add-Ons on the Carpet Cleaning Quote.
On the estimate, check the Whole House box in the carpet job details along with any add-ons. When the estimate is approved, those details carry onto the job, and the tech's carpet cleaning checklist shows the add-ons only when they are on the job.
Recording the Real House
Even with a flat price, write down what the house actually has: the number of rooms, the square feet, the carpet type and anything unusual. That record matters two ways. It lets the tech confirm the house matches the package before starting. And because the next job at that home fills in from the last one, it saves the next quote from guessing again.
If the tech walks in and finds the house is bigger than the package covers, the conversation is simple because the limit is written down. Explain the extra before starting, update the job and invoice what was agreed.
Packages Make Repeat Business Easy
Whole-house customers are often the best candidates for a repeat cleaning plan. In CarpetBossPro, repeat cleanings are set by minimum days between visits, so a yearly or every-six-months whole-house cleaning comes due on its own and lands on the Waiting List map. Customers can also sign up for a plan through the customer app. To see how packages fit with the rest of quoting and scheduling, visit the carpet cleaning estimate software page.
